Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure – Review

Getting Up opens with the most disingenuous disclaimer in the history of legal doublespeak; It claims that while the game presents graffiti in a context where "street artists" are heroic anti-establishment figures, it in no way condones acts of vandalism against public or private property.

Conker: Live & Reloaded – Review

Conker: Live & Reloaded is a retelling of the first tale's game, with an added emphasis on online multiplayer modes. The game has received a major graphical upgrade since it first appeared on the N64, but other problems from the original version (most notably, a wonky camera system and terrible swimming mechanics) made it through the remaking unchanged. Because of this, Live & Reloaded is something of a schizophrenic experience—it looks modern and shiny, but there are lots of places where archaic design and gameplay conventions rear their ugly heads.

Metal Slug 4 & 5 – Second Opinion

Dan is right on the money in saying that the lack of extras in Metal Slug 4 & 5 is very disappointing. This is my third review of a Metal Slug title for GameCritics, and over the last few re-releases, the decline in value for each game has been fairly obvious.

Metal Slug 4 & 5 – Review

So, that's it? Really? Maybe it's just me, but it seems that in this day and age people expect more from a port of an arcade game than just the arcade game. Twelve years ago SNK could get away with this sort of thing. While home consoles struggled to put more than 32 colors on screen at once without major framerate issues, the Neo-Geo offered lavish arcade-quality graphics for a paltry 200 dollars per game.

Headhunter: Redemption – Second Opinion

I'll agree with Dan in saying that Headhunter: Redemption is a better game than the original and a good example of how developers can implement improvements to produce a quality sequel. But in all fairness, the developers still haven't quite nailed it.
