Turok: Evolution – Consumer Guide

Mike Doolittle's picture

According to ESRB, this game contains: Blood and Gore, Violence

Parents, keep this one locked in the attic. Its about as graphic as a first-person shooter can get, full of dismemberment and generous helpings of animated blood.

First-person shooter fans will probably enjoy the graphic nature of the game, and its a good title to fill the void that has followed Halo, particularly for Xbox owners.

Turok fans, what are you waiting for? Go buy this one already.

This is a multiplatform title, available on the Playstation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. The Xbox version features Dolby Digital 5.1 sound and is the only version to utilize dynamic lighting and high-resolution textures. The GameCube version utilizes Dolby Pro Logic II and has the fastest framerate of the bunch. The Playstation 2 version performs substantially weaker, with a choppy framerate, muddled graphics and sound, and long load times.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will miss out on some minor cues, particularly during the stealth sequences.
