Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner—Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army – Consumer Guide

According to ESRB, this game contains: Blood, Sexual Themes, Violence

Parents should be aware that the game's "M" rating is appropriate, but this is simply par for the course as all the installments in this series are aimed squarely at older players. Not only is the subject matter appropriate for teens and up, the difficulty of managing this RPG will be above most children. In form and content, this is not stuff for kids.

SMT fans may not appreciate the game's relative linearity and surprisingly easy difficulty, but the setting in early Japan is quite attractive and the game showcases all of the hallmarks R&D1 is known for. It may not be as destructive to the ego as other SMT titles, but it's still quite worthy.

Fans of standard RPGs may be thrown for a loop by only having one character while managing a huge menagerie of demons, but anyone who has spent time with Pokémon will be sure to see the parallels. The game is fairly unconventional when compared to the usual Japanese-style RPG fare, but for players who crave something off the beaten path, I highly recommend this game as the entry point into the SMT series. (By the way, buying the strategy guide is HIGHLY recommended, if for no other reason than ease of data management… just trust me, you'll see what I mean.)

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will have no problems, all dialogue is delivered through text on screen, and there are no auditory cues relevant to gameplay. No barriers here, so play it with confidence.
