I totally disagree with your review. I'm glad Capcom is sticking to the old ways as this is the reason a lot of us keep playing their games. Changes are nice (Resident Evil 4 should have plenty) but give me more of the same.

Wow, it appears that this reviewer went into this game looking to trash it. The only point I agree with is the digital control system design for an analog controller. The removal of the item box was a relief since I could now stratigically place my items where I wanted without being forced to go back or find an item box. The dual player control was a nice touch and nothing I can remember seeing in a game before. As with the remake, the graphics and sound were fantastic. I really loved this game, even with the clunky controls. My only conclusion is this reviewer wanted the game to be a different style of game. I can't stand fighting games, but that does not mean there are no good fighting games out there. That being said, if you like any of the other Resident Evils, you should enjoy this one. If you don't like killing zombies or solving puzzles then you may not.

You have to look at the review in two ways. If you are a Resident Evil fan, you are likely to disagree with the review, as the game has been made with hardcore fans in mind. However, the review is good for you if you have never really liked the series, as there is nothing too new here. The character swapping is excellent, and the atmosphere is great. However, it's for fans of the series only.

I disagree with the review a bit. While not as strong as Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 0 is a fun and solid addition to the Resident Evil series. The gameplay has some changes; some changes are great and others are frustrating. The two character aspect is fun and makes for some very interesting puzzles and adds to the gameplay in many other ways. The item dropping, however, is an unnecesary and frustrating change. Instead of stocking up on items for the final battle like past Resident Evil games, you are forced to only keep a couple on you. The problem is that you will still play as if you ahd a bow by designating a room or area as the drop point. The problem is that it creates much backtracking and causes you to lose items as you move on through the game. Controlling the two characters is a breeze and fairly intuitive. Resident Evil 0 won't change anyone's mind about the series, but it is a solid and fun game for fans of the series.
