I think the review by Jon Codoche, is right on the mark. However, I'm one of those more lenient types, the kind of person who can look at things with a glass half-full perspective. I have to say Mega Man X6 has its failing. It'ss not great and fails to live up to the legacy set by its predecessors, but it's by no means the worst game ever. In all honesty the game fails to use the Playstation's capabilities to its advantage. It sports a tweaked 16-bit engine, tired gamplay, and it gives off an archaic feeling of repetition. This is largely due to the fact that it was produced by the "let's make copies of the wheel, no reinvent the wheel" company like Capcom. In closing, this game is for collectors only, I would refer you to spend your money on Mega Man Legends 1 & 2.

I feel that Jon was a bit hard on the game. It has some flaws, such as the armors and reploids that Jon mentioned, but for the most part the game is fun and enjoyable. If you have been a fan of the previous Megman X games, this should suit you well since there is much more exploration and X has many more capabilities, such as using a sword. The story is weak and the dialogue are very bad, but you don't play Megaman games for the story, you play them for the gameplay which is very strong in Mega Man X6. The levels can get frustrating at times, but they get better as you progress. Mega Man X6 is a fine addition to the series, it could have been better, but it is still a solid addition to the series.
