Allow me to rebut the reviewer's complaints:
1. "Controlling the character is hard."
The controls in Illbleed are different from standard 3rd-person-view games, in that the analog stick is velocity-sensitive; to make the character run, you must move the stick quickly. I don't particularly care for this technique, but once you learn it, it quickly becomes second nature. Fighting, in particular, is easily mastered, once you understand how to move the stick.
2. "Exploration is pointless, because there's no way to tell if a "tension point" is a trap or not."
This is incorrect; the five remaining senses give you all the clues to need to tell a trap from an item, although some tension points are simply empty...but these are very infrequent.
3. "To avoid traps, you have to go slowly."
Learn to read your senses, and you will be able to move much more quickly, and enjoy the game more. Plus, one of the fun things about Illbleed is going through each level, trying to trigger each trap at least once. Sure, you lose...but you get to see some of the coolest parts of the game that way, and how many games can you say THAT about?
