As much as I wish developers would find more creative ways to engage players than sex and violence, I must also confess that the Myst series is wholly inadequate as a leader to guide developers out of their narrow minds.

Game Description: Myst IV: Revelation will challenge you to unravel an intricate mystery, in a world where plants and machinery have combined. Make your way through a labryinthine plot as you save the D'Ni people. Travel through environments that pulse with life, as you unearth a treacherous scheme involving two of Myst's most sinister villains.

I'll have to admit that I approached Warrior Within with a great degree of hesitancy. I was absolutely head-over-heels in love with the first game, and I still view it as one of the greatest revivals of the current (and soon-to-be-over) era.

As with many games of this type, it can be dumbly compulsive—in the same way that anything can be if it's easy and repetitive enough—but it's still not very good.

Derogatory racial portrayals notwithstanding, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the most complete next-generation experience on a console yet. It has next-generation presentation, mature appeal, a hip and recognizable character, an ingenious multiplayer game, and smooth online play.

Would coming out four months earlier have made a difference for Cold Fear? The game is so similar in almost every respect that it's difficult not to compare it to Resident Evil 4, and it suffers greatly by that comparison. So the question becomes, if there hadn't been a Resident Evil 4, would Cold Fear have recieved a higher mark than it's getting here? Probably not.
