The Warriors – Review

Walter Hills gangs of New York lacked a context, a world around them. At least they did, up until Rockstar Toronto decided to transfer The Warriors into the realm of interactive entertainment.

The Warriors

Game Description: A battle of gigantic proportions is looming in the neon underground of New York City. The army of the night numbers 100,000 strong, and tonight they're all after the "Warriors:" a street gang wrongly accused of killing a rival gang leader. The Warriors must make their way from one end of New York to their turf on the other side of the city. All that stands between The Warriors and their survival are 20 miles and thousands of street gang members. The army of gangs owns the streets and there's no turning back, The Warriors must fight for their lives and learn the meaning of loyalty as danger and uncertainty emerges from the city night.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – Second Opinion

After reading Scott's main review for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, I wondered what I could possibly add. Scott's writing is always a tough act to follow, and he covered it all— gameplay, story, sociological aspects, role-playing elements, and even the optional cornrows. I agreed with everything he touched on, so I sat down looking for words I could say that he didn't. It was tough, but eventually I did come up with something—"ten."

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – Review

That funeral scene, along with a touching moment when a grieving son walks into his now empty childhood home and looks at his dead mother's photograph, are surprisingly emotional moments, moments that had me checking the disc to make sure that I'd loaded up the right game. Has GTA gone all Dr. Phil on me?

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Game Description: Carl Johnson left the San Andreas neighborhood of Los Santos five years ago, when it was being ripped apart by drugs and gang violence. When he returns in the early 90s, his mother has been killed, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are criminals. When crooked cops frame him for murder, he decides to save himself and his family by taking over the streets. Side missions help develop skills that come into play later—from working out at the gym to gambling in a casino.

Red Dead Revolver – Review

It's been a long, hard road for Red Dead Revolver. Starting life as a game in Capcom's stables, it was headed for the glue factory before Rockstar came along and gave it a second chance. With all the ups and downs on its way to retail, it became a real underdog of the industry, with scores of people wanting to see it overcome the odds and succeed. I'm glad to say that the game's well-wishers should be pleased with the final product-in my opinion, Sam Houser's rescue efforts have paid off in spades.
