Prince of Persia: Warrior Within – Consumer Guide

Mike Bracken's picture

According to ESRB, this game contains: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes

Parents should take heed of the mature rating on this title; this is not the same Prince found in last year's Sands of Time. Ubisoft has made this game more violent, more sexual, and all around darker than the first game. Because of this, it really isn't something that younger children should be playing.

Fans of The Sands of Time should definitely give this game a shot. While the new direction in terms of violence and sexuality seems forced, the solid platforming of the first game is still present and accounted for. Combat is better than it was in the previous outing as well.

Platformer fans will definitely want to pick this up as it's one of the best platforming experiences in recent memory. Yes, there's more fighting than there needs to be, but the monotony of fighting hordes of faceless enemies is regularly broken up by some exhilarating chase sequences that will test even the most battle-hardened gamer's finger dexterity.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will be pleased to know that the game features a full set of subtitles.
