Pretender. Wanna-be. Unoriginal. When I heard people comparing Medal of Honor
to GoldenEye 007
I was ready to toss all the slurs its way. But after a few honest rounds during the game I found that I was judging it too quickly and harshly.
Game Description: Considered by many to be the best first-person shooter on the PlayStation, Medal of Honor immerses you in WWII with authentic weapons, enemies, missions, and environments as you try to help the Allies win the war. Gamers get to use 12 authentic period weapons including the Tommy gun, grenades, and the powerful bazooka. The game has 30 3D levels and frighteningly good AI, resulting in the best WWII-era shooter to ever grace the PlayStation.

The whole 'Live' franchise is already a legendary one in this industry; every year, no matter how bad or unimproved the new version was from its predecessor, NBA Live is annually proclaimed the basketball game of choice by video game players and critics. So much so that newer and more revolutionary titles like Nintendo's NBA Courtside and Acclaim's NBA Jam (64-bit version) were consistently overlooked. I, for one, was never swept up in the 'Live' hysteria so I've always been a bit more objective and with this latest release, I am even more disheartened seeing the amount of praise already being showered on EA Sports.

With his review, Dale has thrown down the gauntlet on the myth of NBA Live's dominance over the genre and I'm right there beside him. I'm totally baffled as to how a game with so many flaws can get so much praise from the media. This game is far from flawless (as some have actually described it!).
Game Description: One of the newest additions to EA's sports lineup, NBA 2000 features more action, more slamming, and more attitude. Broadcast-style camera technology brings you to the heart of the action. Next-generation facial animation with added speech links gives the players more personality and attitude. You can go five-on-five or one-on-one on the street court, with the greatest names in the NBA, past and present, as NBA Live exclusively brings you retired names in the NBA, including the greatest all-time player, Michael Jordan. Play with one of five All-Star teams from the past decade or create your own classic matchups.

Taking a look at Resident Evil 3, you may not find too many new things that weren't tried in Dino Crisis before it, but everything comes together rather nicely. Most of the annoying things prevalent in the first Resident Evil are long gone and the new additions make me look forward to new versions of the series no matter what system they appear on. I would have to say this is the most complete Resident Evil ever released and a fitting finale to the series.
Game Description: The zombies from the original Resident Evil have returned to give gamers another taste of terror in this third installment of the popular horror survival series. The game begins with Jill Valentine, who survived the first quest, but now finds herself surrounded by flesh-eating zombies as she tries to leave Raccoon City. Once again, there is lots of bone-crunching action as Jill defends herself against this never-ending army of the undead. Later in the game, players will assume the role of Carlos Oliveira, a Brazilian mercenary who will race against the clock to aid Jill in the morbid madness.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a classic case of too much of the same too soon. When Dino Crisis was released in early September, it had been awhile since I had played a game in the 'Survival-Horror' genre.
