Ys: The Ark of Napishtim – Consumer Guide

Mike Bracken's picture

According to ESRB, this game contains: Fantasy Violence, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Alcohol

Parents notice that the game has earned a T rating, but it's really pretty mild. There are a few drunkards running around, but the violence is definitely lighthearted. There are a few scantily-clad fairies too, but nothing too extreme. Kids who aren't quite teens will be ok with this game.

Old school gamers will love this title. It's nostalgia on a CD evoking fond memories of the 16-bit era of gaming. It's fun, it's pretty (in an old-fashioned way) and it's challenging. A definite keeper for anyone who misses the games of yesteryear.

Casual gamers will most likely find the graphics and game mechanics too archaic to enjoy them—this is their loss.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers will have no trouble follwing the story, thanks to full subtitling throughout.
