Parents should take note that the game does feature some mild and very infrequent swearing and that the interminably sarcastic tone of the main hero is certainly not the kind of thing you'd want to rub off on your child. Also, combat is surprisingly vicious, with fallen enemies lying dead on their backs rather than vanishing into thin air. There is no bloodshed involved, but it's still about as brutal as battles have ever gotten in a cartoonish platform adventure.

Fans of 3D platformers are urged to give Legend of Kay some consideration, as it successfully stands apart from the other titles out there by virtue of its fine combat and scoring systems, as well as its self-aware tone and generally slick presentation. Superficially, however, it is often very similar to many other games in the genre, so anyone sick of platform games may find the sense of déją vu hard to overcome.

Deaf and Hard of Hearing gamers are well served with subtitles and audio cues are unnecessary to be able to play the game.
