Interview with Shellrazer's Jesse Turner and Nick Waanders

Interview with Shellrazer's Jesse Turner and Nick Waanders

While at the most recent Seattle Indie Expo (SIX), I had the chance to meet Jesse Turner, artist for the recent iOS release, Shellrazer. I was blown away by his energy and enthusiasm, and there's no question he's a very talented artist. Dude can draw the hell out of turtles, yo. Although I didn't have a ton of time at the show, Jesse was quite gracious and willing to follow up with me afterwards, and here's what he (and his teammate Nick Waanders) had to say.

Interview with Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman

As soon as I saw the Ouya, I knew that for better or worse, I needed to know more. In the media whirlwind that followed over the next few days, I managed to pitch a few questions to Ouya CEO Julie Uhrman. Here's what Julie had to say.

Darksiders II Hands-On Preview

I was invited to a special Darksiders II hands-on press event hosted by THQ taking place in San Francisco. Being a huge fan of the first game, I was glad to accept and in the interest of full disclosure, it should be known that airfare and hotel were provided. The day started with a brief talk from one of the developers giving an overview of the sequel, and what to expect. The attendees were then allowed about two hours to play through a large chunk of the game's first area.

Interview with Laughing Jackal's Ross Brierley

Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death Screenshot

As someone who grew up loving the Choose Your Own Adventure paperbacks, finding titles to play on my PSP that were essentially the same thing blew my mind—rather than turning the concepts into a clunky platformer or simplistic action game, the good people at Laughing Jackal translated the books themselves into text-based adventures with short minigames replacing the dice-rolling and combat that real-life readers would have performed.

State of Play with Brandon Bales: Jonathan Blow, Part Four

Welcome back again! Here's Part Four of our fantastic discussion with Jonathan Blow, creator of Braid.
