There isnt much to add to Mikes review. He pegged all of the major problems and few highpoints Enclave showcases. Whether its the shoddy save and combat systems or the extreme difficulty, I agree with him. There are a couple things that I feel deserve further attention.
Game Description: This is the story of Sora, a 14-year-old boy whose world is shattered. When a violent storm hits his island-paradise home, he is separated from his two best friends and goes to look for them. Meanwhile, King Mickey is missing from Disney Castle and Captain Goofy and the court wizard Donald are off to search for him. When Sora, Donald and Goofy meet, they hear about the Heartless: Strange and powerful creatures who caused the terrible storm and kidnapped King Mickey. They'll work together to help each other meet their goals - and have an incredible adventure as they go!
Deus Ex also earned critical acclaim for the way it seamlessly blended diverse gaming genres into a cohesive and entertaining whole. At first glance, the game appears to be yet another first-person shooter (FPS). Everything is viewed from JCs perspective and theres lots of running around and shooting. However, the game also incorporates an abundance of gameplay elements from role-playing games (RPGs).
I thought I was enjoying Sunshine for the first hour or so that I played it, but then it hit me: I wasnt enjoying the game at allI was just happy to see Mario after a six-year hiatus. As I ventured further into the world of Delfino Island, I realized that Sunshine was a rather average game with some serious issues in terms of control and the camera system.
Game Description:Super Mario Sunshine for the Nintendo GameCube is Mario's biggest, most amazing adventure ever. When Mario, Peach, and an entourage of Peach's loyal Toad friends set out for a tropical vacation on lovely Dolphin Island, they're in store for much more than a relaxing holiday. A mustachioed maniac has mucked up the entire island, and Mario is accused of committing the crime. Armed with a high-tech water cannon called FLUDD (Flash Liquidizer Ultra Dousing Device), Mario sets out to clean the island, clear his name, and solve the mystery of the villainous vandal.
Over the past few years, gaming has started to notice the value of having a main character duo as opposed to a lone hero. In some games, like Banjo-Kazooie, the teaming up is essential to advancing through the game's missions (players must utilize both Banjo and Kazooie to complete different objectives). Other games, like Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter aren't quite so ambitious in their use of two lead characters--the mute Jak does all of the work while Daxter provides the running commentary. However, theres no denying that the presence of a second lead character (or even a sidekick) gives these games an edge over their more traditional single lead character counterparts.
A bum walks up to me and begs for me to kill him. Because its just a game, I shoot him in the face, and then he screams and falls dead. That is a scenario that would be described by some people as funny, especially with the unattractive character models, unrealistic blood and in a post-Grand Theft Auto III context.
