Hey, thanks Doug.
Ultra V rated seemed exactly V rated, only without skulls. Considering what I had to go through to get that far, I picked up the patterns relatively quickly.
With boss fights, it's all about manipulating their patterns against them. For example, you can red hot kick Captin Blue and Another Joe the entire match. There's also a hit and run technique with Fire Leo while he's spinning.
Captin Blue is the absolute sickest charater in the game.

Just finished JAK aND DAXTER with a 98% completion. I missed one crate to get 101 power cells. I'll probably go back and try to find it. It is on the last level somewhere.
Next I think I'll finish a dreamcast game. Probably Armada.

I'd recommend Everything or Nothing. Visually and conceptually it's not as exciting, but I'd argue the gameplay has visceral thrills equal to that of Ninja Gaiden, and plus they're more frequent.
Azure hyped about the level, but the bridge chase level is easily among the best conceived levels in a game. Short, challenging and has a few jaw dropping moments, at least the first time around.
Also the camera doesn't suck as much, although it still has its problems.
For you hypatia, I'd recommend renting Ninja Gaiden and see if it jives with you. The first two levels are actually two of the hardest levels in the game, which seems pretty wrong IMO.

Sounds like a plan, Sam.
While I've never played either of those licenses, I have to admit this 007 just struck me better. Shopping next week!

Oh yeah. I beat Lifeline. I did make that thread about it .
I also "beat" Bangai-O the other day, but I had to cheat for the last boss, so I don't know if that counts. He always gets me when he turns invincible dammit!
Next up: Getting back to D2 (got sidetracked when I bought Lifeline), Otogi (bought a while ago, but not played), and Drakengard, which gets better every time I play it, even though it's obviously far inferior to both Dynasty Warriors and Chaos Legion. It's the atmosphere I guess

Just giving this thing a little bump while reporting in that I've beaten CMR4 in 3 of 6 championships. Just finished the 4WD Advanced Championship. I had a rough go at the end in the UK rally, but fortunately had won almost all of the rallies in the championship so I was well ahead on points. I don't know whether to try the Group B or 2WD Advanced next...
oh, and by the way, I've been updating my initial post on the first page of this thread to try and keep a list of all the games I beat this year--it won't be a long list.

I beat Phantasy Star on the GBA last night. I have been casually playing through the first one for the past few months. I think that is probably the 135th time I have beaten the original PS. I'm playing PS Collection mindlessly, it is by no means the focus of my gaming. PS2 is next.
As for full tilt game time lately I'm focusing on:
Gold cups in 150cc on Mario Kart DD
I dusted off my incomplete game in Splinter Cell (Chinese Embassy is tough).
Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap on the SMS. Finally picked up this gem.
On pause:
Fire Emblem
Metroid Prime hard run
Mario and Luigi Superstar Story
Of course, all this is out the window when I get my hands on Harvest Moon today (can't play it until tomorrow due to having a gig tonight).

As in the other thread, my marathon obsession with Angband has finally resulted in a win. In case it wasn't obvious, that was probably a 500+ hour win, with over 100 hours in the last week. I'm drained.
I'll probably take another crack at Ratchet and Clank next.
EDIT: The above is probably wrong. The game is certainly over 400 hours, but i probably only put in around 60 in the last week. Still...

God I loved Rachet & Clank. I beat it three times, working on a fourth, and have collected all the gold bolts except I think five, because I'm missing two of the golden weapons. Oh, fun times...

I finished XIII. It was fairly meh...expect a review soon.
I didn't actually "beat" PSO EP III, but I'm pretty much done with it. I'm bored to death of it, after only 75 hours, too.
Next up? Not sure yet...maybe R-Type Final.

Haha! I can't do it until my hdd and game get here...
I'm hoping SE doesn't screw me over--I want my free drive for doing the beta by the time everyone else gets the game...not a week after or something like that.

Ok, I *Finally* got around to beating Alter Echo. It's a good game, but it suffered from one of my pet peeves and that's having boss fights that are exponentially harder than 99% of the actual non-boss gameplay.
I don't mind hard bosses if the game is hard in general. But the majority of Alter Echo was very, very, easy--with the exception of 3 or 4 of the boss battles. In fact my will to finally get this game over and done with prompted me to do something I hadn't done in about 4 years--and that's use a cheat code. I admit it, I used a "replenish health" cheat code once or twice in that last series of boss battles. I gave it a bunch of tries without the codes--never used a code elsewhere in the game--but finally just wanted the damn thing over and done with. Oh well.
