Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Hey Hypatia, congratulations on your completions, but sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Hope you're feeling better.
I "beat" Espn NFL2K5 on the X-Box; I consider myself having beaten it, since I won the Super Bowl with the hapless 49'ers (alas) on Pro difficulty. I'm still playing it, as it is the only sports game I've played through since the days of the Genesis, and I hope to eventually win the Super Bowl on Legendary difficulty (HAHAHAHA).
Otherwise, I've been doing my usual "play 147,000 games at once, get nowhere near beating them" thing.

Just beat MGS 3, and the game raises a lot of questions. Like "what the hell are those frog toys?" and "when is MGS 4 coming out?"

If you shoot all the frogs, you get special things. They replace Dog tags.

I beat Katamari Damarcy...actually, before it came out over here, but I neglected to post about it. There's a good review of it over at Insert Credit that fairly well describes how I felt after finishing the game and why I haven't really picked it up since...which doesn't mean that it still isn't an excellent game.
I beat GTA:SA yesterday and I have to say that the entire experience was rather underwhelming. There was so much potential there that seems to be getting pissed away by sloppy/poor design decisions.

Just got through Half Life 2. I agree with most of the sentiments posted about it here so far. And I beat Paper Mario 2 recently.

I beat Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magic Obscura for the PC last night. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the ending, though I did enjoy the story. This was one of the more frustrating games I’ve played; not because it was difficult, but because of the bugs, the inconsistency of the quality of quests, and sloppy execution of a great idea.

Oh really? That's too bad. I was hoping to play it someday after I have a decent comp to run things on. Ah well, guess that just makes my "list of things I should play" that much shorter.
As for me, I finished both Onimusha 2 and Psi-Ops over the turkey holiday. Both had endings (like Halo 2) that simply implied a sequel. Meh. The things I liked best about them were:
for the former -- the manipulation of parts of the story via friendship with the four sub-characters;
for the latter -- its true, I'll hop on the bandwagon now -- the physics engine (throwing stuff around was simply a blast) and the entire psychic powers gig (very well executed).
Now I'm off to.. I have no idea. I'll decide later.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I recently beat The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures with another player. I started months ago, but my gaming partner wasn't often free to come play. Overall, it's a good game, but it's nowhere near as good as The Wind Waker.

I just beat WWE: Smackdown! vs. RAW. That's a fun game. One of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. I need to play more and unlock stuff.

Just finished Half-Life the Second. Great final levels, but man, another lousy ending.

Just beat Ninja Gaiden. At times insufferable, otherwise it was a'ight. A po' man's DMC I think. I'm still 6 scarabs shy of unlocking the original though, so back into the trenches I go.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
i LOVED Shinobi. For me, it seemed to have a really oldschool feeling to it with the need for twitch reflexes and quick thinking. I'll admit the camera angles sucked, but it was a small price to pay for the great amount of pleasure I got from taht game.
I need to buy Nightshade and Bujingai.. I wonder if Bujingai has a similar system to teh Tate'? I love Tate'.
