Add Megaman 2 to the list. It must've been a true sadist who decided that the final boss would only be susceptible to Bubble Lead.

uhh...Megaman 3. Easily the best (read: least cheap) one so far. That big yellow foo' didn't give me nearly as much trouble this time around. Also beat that crappy arcade game that I unlocked, Megaman: The Power Battle, a few times.

4, 5, 6
Now they're just starting to get easier, as opposed to less cheap. I Beat Wily on the first try on both 5 and 6. I could just be getting better, but that's doubtful.

The main gameplay mechanics are similar. Plus, you are sharpening up your 8-bit gaming as well. Unless you play classic games alot it is hard to plug in a play older titles without a bit of a learning curve. We are used to more intuitive, fluid, exact controls today. Old games aren't like that
I'll wager that you are indeed getting better!

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I beat number 7 now. I was thinking it was the easiest yet, but the second form of Wily humbled me. I had to consult internet boss strategies to beat him. *hides face in shame* I fought him many times, but even with four energy tanks and one S tank I could still only get him down to about 1/3 health. I just could not avoid his attack at all. Oh well, I beat him now.
Working on 8, and I have to say that not only is it disappointing, it's probably the worst Megaman by far. Bad music, long stages, slow action. Not to mention one of the stages has two mazes in it. Gee, fun. mazes in a megaman game. More like an endurance test than an action game. The only thing that keeps me going is the HILARIOUS dub for Dr. Light. "We must not wet deez powerfuh weapons into de hands of de ebil Dr. Wiwy!"
It's funny that I was kind of playing the games looking forward to the final two the whole time and it turns out they're the two least fun in the series IMO.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
I finished Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga late last night. Wow, what a ode to the Mario games! My personal favorite was the "block retrospective" room. And it was nice to see Luigi's Mansion get some love as well. I think they squeezed in music from just about every Mario game, even if it was just a quick cue.
And the character who could only speak in bad video game dialogue? Genius.
And the reference to Mario and Luigi as "tired, middle-aged men?" Also genius.
I'm inspired to finally go out and buy Super Mario Sunshine.

Beat Megaman 8. They sure like that disappering Wily boss, don't they? And Duo is a retarded addition. It's no wonder the Megaman series ended at 8.

Super Mario World. The more I play it the more I'm reminded it's just a dumbed down version of Mario 3. Think M64 to Sunshine. Still, a bad version of Mario 3 is still a great freakin' game.
Ok, I promise I'm done making this thread my bitch, at least for a little while.

That would be me!
I've knocked out 3, 4 and 5 now. I'd never beaten 4 or 5, but they're both pretty easy. The games seem to be getting easier and easier...

How is Mario World dumbed down from Mario 3? I love the game and feel it's the absolute best Mario game out there. Yoshi is awesome, all the secret levels are cool. The graphics were incredible for the time. The only thing that Mario 3 had that it didn't were all the different suits, but flying with the cape was more fun than the tail anyway and there were all the various Yoshi flavors.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!
Just beat Silent Hill. Did anyone know what was going on the first time they played that game?
Very cool game. It's rare when a game comes along that actually has a plot, much less a plot that is so devilishly entertaining.
