Suggest a PC videogame.
Suggest a mildly entertaining videogame that would run smoothly under these system specs:
Windows Vista
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.46GHz 1.47 GHz (>9000 PWR lvl)
RAM: 1014 MB
Thank you.
P.S.
I already played Fallout 2. I found it to be extremely boring.

And Yet It Moves --> A wildly unknown game, but is a great combo of platformer/physics/WTF with a great art style and soundtrack.
Crayon Physics Deluxe --> Again, not sure how big this one got, but is a really great, imaginative game that does for sketching what Scribblenauts does for words.

Re: Suggest a PC videogame.
I've played more Spectromancer than anything else this year. It's an online fantasy card game from the creators of Magic: the Gathering, but it does without the card collecting and deck building aspects. A full match can be played in under ten minutes (usually), which is a huge plus.
It has a really extensive demo that contains half the single player game as well as full multiplayer, though only one of the six mage types is free.
It's only 10 dollars on Steam (and 20 everywhere else), so I'd suggest getting it there if you like the demo.

I recommend Freedom Force. It's got relatively low system requirements and the pace of gameplay can be adjusted depending on what type of game you like. I play it as turn-based strategy game. It's got a ton of personality. I just rebuilt an old laptop and that is the first game I loaded up!

Re: Suggest a PC videogame.
System Shock 2. It's one of my favorite PC games of all time. It's the inspiration for a more recently released game called Bioshock, but in my opinion it is far superior. I just played and beat it again yesterday for the fourth time.
If you check it out, be sure to check out the numerous mods that will make it more enjoyable to play (check out the SS2 Technical FAQ for more info). There are a couple very minor adjustments you'll need to make to run it run on Vista, which you should find in the FAQ linked above.

Re: Suggest a PC videogame.
Civilization III should run fine on that system. Civ IV might even run ok too. Although you'd have to check to be doubley sure.
It also depends on your likes and dislikes. And your video card.
Oblivion should run. Mount and Blade. Both RPGs.
Port Royale 2 if you've ever liked Sid Meier's Pirates.
The Guild
Mike is right and Gog.com is a great place to grab up some older games. They are having a 15% off Unreal games this week.
It really does depend on what games you like, and what games you don't like.

Re: Suggest a PC videogame.
Seconded Plants vs Zombies, and also Crayon Physics.
Also, World of Goo. Some of the puzzles are hard as balls to solve with a mouse (as opposed to a wiimote, since Wii was where the game was first released) but otherwise, it's a great game.

Re: Suggest a PC videogame.
Does crayon physics ever become challenging? I liked the overall style a lot, but all of the puzzles from the demo had really obvious solutions. And the same solution kept working over and over again. I get that you could challenge yourself to come up with convoluted solutions to simple problems... but I'd prefer something that was a little harder from the start, too.

Wait until you get to the later levels. Some of them are real head-scratchers. It's also not just accomplishing the goal, but doing it in creative ways. Did you get all the bonus stars?

that video for And Yet It Moves is simply awesome... i'm sorely tempted to pick it up, despite hating to play games on PC.

But why so? You should at least try some of the games recommended in this thread; most of them don't require a high-end PC to run. Plants vs Zombies only requires a computer that could run flash animations, and the same applies to Crayon Physics (of the two, I think Plants vs Zombies is better).
