Destiny

Anyone else planning on picking Destiny up in September? I really enjoy what I have played of the beta. Kind of like Halo meets Borderlands with a splash of Mass Effect. I'll purchase it for the PS4.

Defiantly an improvement over Halo. I always played the Halo games when they came out, but never saw why people were so obsessed with them. I could never connect with Master Chief. He looked like a generic kids toy.

Re: Destiny

So, I got around to playing part of the Destiny beta when it opened up to all XBL Gold subscribers. Didn't play through all missions and played minimal multiplayer, but enjoyed the little I did play. I'm probably not the target audience for such a game, but I would definitely purchase once the price drops, not just day one.

Re: Destiny

One reason I am interested is that I am always looking for the next Contra. I want another great co-op game rather than another deathmatch.

I also like big adventure games where I can do a lot of exploring in different landscapes. Destiny seems to have that.

I know Destiny is not going to be as creative as the indy games. It is aimed at a mass audience, so it will be watered down. I like both indy as mass market games.

Re: Destiny

I agree. Truly good co-op seems to be under valued in today's gaming culture. I especially miss quality local co-op. Good news for Destiny is that pre-orders are being placed left and right. Should mean plenty of good co-op opportunities for you early adapters.

Re: Destiny

I thought Destiny was a deathmatch-type thing - is it really co-op? I downloaded the beta when it became open to all but never got round to firing it up.

I used to play a fair bit of co-op with my brother but we've fallen off lately. We have Portal 2 still to play, and one of the Kane and Lynch games (I think) but never both have time to play.

Re: Destiny

I was running around with other players attacking the enemy forces, so definitely has co-op aspects. In fact I thought I had read that this was kind of the focus of Destiny, but somebody who has been following the game more closely should chime in.

Re: Destiny

It is supposed to be something like a MMO FPS. I believe friends can pop in and out.

Re: Destiny

I would only be interested if the wizard would be coming from the moon.
