New Review Posted: Everything or Nothing
I review Everything or Nothing, and make a couple of bold pronouncements:
"This is the best James Bond game ever. There are some who might question this statement, and they would most likely that remind me that ever since EA acquired the James Bond license the titles have ranged from an unplayble racing game to many inexcusably generic first-person shooters (FPS). I'd be a fool to question that argument, but the fact is, EA's losing streak ended last February with the release of Everything or Nothing. Goldeneye, while possibly the greatest console FPS ever, was far from a convincing or compelling James Bond experience. Sure, the locations were there, and it followed the movie's plot, but it didn't have the feel of a bond film. Where were the beautiful women? Where was the sense of a grand globe-trotting adventure? Where were the fantastic stunt sequences? By comparison, Everything or Nothing will no doubt go down in history as the first playable James Bond movie."
The rest of the review is here, if you'd like to read it.

Everything or Nothing better than Half-Life 2?
Okay.

Re: New Review Posted: Everything or Nothing
Now now, if you don't like EA just don't buy it new off the shelf. Buy it used, and EA will never see a dime.
There is a typo at the end of the review: Review date published December of 2005. Details, I know.

You have no idea. I need there to be realistic consequences of violence - what's the point of shooting someone otherwise?
And for the record, just because EA is a monsterous juggernaut responsible for everything wrong in the videogame industry doesn't mean that they don't make some good games. And how come Scott didn't get called a m-w when he gave Burnout 3 a 9?

Re: New Review Posted: Everything or Nothing
Another great review! (Though as you admitted, it seems a bit late. )
This was another of the (used*) games I got for the holiday. It's fun and exciting as hell, and it really gets you in the mood. I even found myself humming that oh-so-familiar theme after playing. One little thing about it, but maybe it's b/c I was going back and forth 'tween too many games -- it seems a bit difficult at times (I'm playing on Agent level); still, I had fun replaying those I had too. I've gotten a fair number of "Bond moments" too, but I fear I probably won't get the Platinums. What about yourself?
I really feel that this game, along with Red Dead Revolver, are two of the games that most feel like the genres they were for. What I mean is, both of them felt like you were /in/ either the Bond movie or a great western. Kudos to them for that.
*Used = Cheaper, which allows for more purchases, and in this instance it's also good b/c EA won't see a dime of it.

Re: New Review Posted: Everything or Nothing
I beat the game a year ago. Good stuff, but in terms of an interactive Bond movie, I think, on an unofficial level, MGS3 takes the cake.

Re: New Review Posted: Everything or Nothing
Moron - Good point, but I'm with Hypatia on this one - I can't feel guilty about buying a used game, because the cash just goes to my local small business game store. The only new game I bought this year was Katarmari (at that price, how could I justify waiting?)
Solid - you're forgetting about the fantastic vehicular stunts that define the bond franchise - I'm afraid a very, very long rail shooter sequence just doesn't cut it in that respect, even if there is a jump. Sure, MGS3 has that wonderful cold war feel that reminds us of the time when Bond was relevant, but there's something very unbondmanlike about the commando action of the game. For some reason I just have trouble picturing James Bond wearing elaborate jungle camo and crawling around on his belly, rambo-style.
Hypatia - I'm on a platinum run through the game right now - I've got all of them except for one level - "The Machinery of Evil" where you have to destroy six reactors. Apparently someone on the design team thought that it was possible to beat this level using less than ten bullets. I'd like to see them try.

Blech. Well, if you're having difficulties completing the game in platinum mode, I know I never could. I'll just have to be happy with my Bond moment awards.
