New Review Posted: Carve

Mike Doolittle reviews Carve, and thinks that:

"Carve is one of the innumerable water racing games that strives to cash in on the immense popularity of Nintendo's Wave Race from way back 1996. As it is, it's a perfectly serviceable game—adequate in every respect such that fans of the genre will find satisfaction, but conversely lacking any noteworthy stylistic or mechanical innovation to separate it from the pack."

Holy crap, that was a short review.

Brad goes on hiatus and feature reviews become shorter than second op's?

Hey Doug, this is actually a new policy of the site. For less noteworthy games or games that aren't that deep, critics have the greenlight to write a shorter review. We hope to be more productive that way and readers will get more content and gaming advice. You can still expect long-winded-theraputic-personal-confession style reviews on big releases.

Are you taking a bad day out on the reviews this week, or what?

That's what I figured Chi. That's a good idea, too. God knows not every game warrants it's own volume in the encyclopedia (someone tell IGN before they waste the entire Internet's bandwith on a review for Bombastic 2).

Just the other day G4-TechTV reviewed this game and their comments were virtually the same as Mikes. First there was Waverace. And now there's Splashdown. Go buy Splashdown instead.
