New Review Posted: Future Tactics: The Uprising

Brad Gallaway plays through Future Tactics, and has this to say:

"Ah, Future Tactics … currently a red-headed stepchild of the videogame review world. Saddled with poor cover art and positioned as a budget release, nearly every write-up I've read takes delight in putting it down, many of them aggressively. Not being independently wealthy, I held off on a purchase myself until I saw a demo running. I bought it the same day. After spending time with it and going back to see how my opinion squared with all those negative numbers, I suspect that most of the reviewers gleefully bashing it probably didn't even get a quarter of the way through."

Re: New Review Posted: Future Tactics: The Uprising

I didn't read Brad's review yet, but I just wanted to add that I bought this game yesterday and have not put it down since. For $20, it's a lot of fun. It reminds me of a cross between "Advance Wars" and "Armed & Dangerous". It takes a couple of minutes to get used to it, but once you get the basic premise and controls down, the game becomes pretty enjoyable. No, it's not a masterpiece, but I pay a lot of crap that costs $50, this game is half the price and better than half of the others.

Edit/PS: I just read Brad's review and I agree 100%. Also, I wanted to warn would-be purchasers of the game that despite the Xbox Live orange band across the top of the box, the only thing this game has Live-enabled is that it will alert other Live gamers that you're playing Future Tactics. Also you can access the Dashboard through the game, instead of ejecting the disc. That's it. There's no scoreboards, online play, or downloads.
