New Review Posted: Far Cry

Daniel Weissenberger reviews Far Cry and says:

"Far Cry doesn't have an original bone anywhere in its well-sculpted body. Blasting my way across a tropical archipelago, I kept getting a sense of déjà vu, as if I'd visited these places and shot these people before. It just hadn't been anywhere near as pretty in the past."

good job danny. i really wish i could play this game but my computer needs major upgrades before i could even think about it. is it true that theyre making a version of far cry as well as call of duty for the consoles? does anyone think they could make far cry just as impressive graphically on consoles as in the original game?

According to IGN the console version won't look as pretty as the PC, but it isn't supposed to be that bad. The only problem is that to do this they had to make a the wide opne levels a lot smaller.

If the best part of the game is the outdoor areas, then won't the console versions suffer if the outdoors are reduced? Might the Xbox version keep more intact than the PS2 version? Considering the good things I've read about the Xbox version of Doom 3, I want to be hopeful about its version of Far Cry.
