New Review Posted: The Da Vinci Code

I review The Da Vinci Code, and make a shocking pronouncement:

"Whenever a story is adapted across numerous different mediums, it's impossible to avoid debates about which version of the story is the best. The consensus tends to weigh in favor of whatever the original source material was, but there are exceptions. The Godfather is generally considered to be a better movie than a book, The Dead Zone is better served as a television show than any previous versions, and even though Battlefield Earth is one of the worst films ever made, it's still better than the novel it's derived from. What I'm getting at, in a rather roundabout way is that, perhaps for the first time ever, a videogame is actually better than the book or film that preceded it. That game? The Da Vinci Code."

That's right. It's actually good, as you'll discover here.

Funny, everyone else thinks the game is a piece of shit. Lots of 4/10s and stuff. Not that I would ever play the game, because I never want anything to do with anything even tangentially related to Dan Brown. I didn't see the movie, but I read about two chapters of the book, before putting it down and contemplating getting my Nazi on and burning it.

Da Vinci Code deserves no more than a 3, in my opinion. That's all I'll say on the matter, having already reviewed the game for another site.

It could have been such a fantastic game. They should have made it for the DS, and made it in the same style as trace memory.

Funny, I like your older, more genuine posts better than the newer, witty ones, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to say so.

Are you looking for honesty, or someone who conforms to your every opinion? It takes guts to admit to liking a game that everyone else hates (or vice versa).

If you want to conform, take your inner nazi over to Gamespot or GamePro.

If you didn't want to read the book or see the movie, what's the point of bitching that the review doesn't meet your expectations? I'm genuinely curious.
