what are those games that stand out most for you because they had an unusual control scheme or an unusual system of movement?
for ex: recently I was playing WayForward's 'Mighty Milky Way' on my DS, and I was struck by how having this limited and odd set of movement and control rules 'created' the gameplay experience.
Maybe this is something germain to handheld casual games...?
Prototype and Grand Theft Auto IV and Deus Ex:HR all have a similar feel because they all move and control (minus super powers) essentially the same way. Mass Effect moves and controls alot like Rainbow 6 Vegas. FPS games all share a near identical control scheme.
