Games lacking demos

Lately, I've noticed that many popular games are lacking of demos or free levels in which one may try the game and see if it would be a worthwhile buy. Anyone know why? Whether this is a good or bad thing? Please comment and leave your opinions.

Re: Games lacking demos

Publishers aren't beholden to provide demos. Some games have playable demos, some don't. Established franchises wont bother, because they know fans will buy on principle.

I look at gameplay videos on youtube. If Im not interested from that, I dont bother.
