Free Games - your recommendations.
Bearing in mind the recent cease and desist notice from EA to Ultima IV remakes around the web, I thought it might be good to have a thread to recommend any free-to-play games you've been impressed with lately. These games are often original and intriguing. Also, for those of us with less time for gaming, this may be the best way to enjoy games we actually have a chance of finishing!
I'll start with two I've already posted, which can be played though in a few minutes and are interesting and entertaining:
One Chance to Save the World
and (this one may take longer):
The Infinite Ocean

Hi Pedro,
I have tried the first one (One Chance to save the world), and I have found it really funny.
Of course, the game machanics are very simple, but the story and how your decissions affect your life make it a great free game.
I will post later my choices, I am still comparing some games that I have found lately...

54 deaths. Although I would have tried harder had I noticed the death counter at the bottom of the screen before stage 20. Good game, though.

Re: Free Games - your recommendations.
As someone who uses Linux as there main OS (will only boot windows if I absolutely have to) I'm always looking for free games to experiment with.
here is a site with a huge sortable list of free games that work under Linux (pretty sure they all work in windows and Mac too)

King's Quest 3 Redux. Never even heard of, let alone played, the series before I read a review for this. Completely free, and I've had a pretty good time with it so far. No doubt most of you guys will be more familiar with the series, but I'd definitely say give it a go.

But you're supposed to be recommending games that you have enjoyed, that stand out from the crowd in some way!

What are you saying, that we're all old bastards around here?
Great recommendation though, I'm looking forward to playing it.

Gravity Bone
This is quite awesome. A bit 'arty' mind you (just a bit), so you've been warned.
23meg download.

Lol, not at all, I'm more suprised at my ignorance of the series- seems to be really well known amongst fellow gamers. Definately going to be looking into playing some more of the KQ games, I think 3 Redux is fantastic.

I didn't get past the third level, as I'm not a huge fan of Portal, but for the week that's in it:
Portal: the Flash Version

Glad you enjoyed it!
This one is a bit hectic for my tastes but looks pretty good:
Super Crate Box.

A point'n'click adventure with an interesting art style. Short and not bad at all.

Re: Free Games - your recommendations.
Two ten-minute Flash games.
Hmm. A creepy platformer:
Loved
And less creepy and less platforming but a great little story:
Coma
Both games are a little arty and got a writeup here if anyone's interested.
Loved
Coma
