I am stuck towards the beginning where Drake pulls on a chain and nothing seems to happen. I thought a door would open but I can't see that it does anything.

I did that. Many times. Been stuck there now for a couple of hours. Deleted save and went back to it and same thing...nothing. I think the game must have a glitch in it, but thanks for your reply.

Duh...I just didn't hit the triangle fast enough. Gotta hit it repeatedly. Cool game....

okay I am stuck on the island right after he jumps out of the plane with the girl. the gate that tells you to hit triangle infront of wont open you kick the gate it rattles a bit but does not open, what do I do?

I THINK HE'S WITH SULLY? IF SO HIT THE TRIANGLE SEVERAL TIMES THEN SULLY WILL TELL HIM HE WILL HELP THEN GO TOWARDS A WAGON OR WOOD BOX PUSH THAT UNDER THE DOOR

tap the triangle button rapidly. i got stuck there too.

yes, a door does open.
U just have to keep on pressing triangle many times.

stuck where the shotguns make a cross and a skull head is there. the clue shows that picture, but i cannot seem to figure it out. if i run off cliff i die and i cant climb across either...i tried shooting the shotguns the skull, grenades..everything.

The journal (view by pressing "select") relates each of the statues to Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Then it relates each to a direction on a compass. Look on the floor in the middle of the statues and you will see a compass. Climb up to each of the statues and face them in the appropriate direction as stated in the journal. For example the statue that is suppose to face North, turn it's face so it is looking North.
