2 on my list is
Papo & Yo.
This was really excellent. The gameplay mixes gentle platforming with distinctive visuals, and it's definitely the most colourful game of the year.
More than that though - in a year where many games tried and failed to live up to an artistic vision, this one actually carries it off. There's more journey in this game than in Journey, more guilt, fear and pain than in Dear Esther. And unlike those games, there's a proper resolution, faced head-on.
A superb game.
