Re: Best 'Current Gen' memories?

There's more that I loved, but the first thing that came to mind was finishing Spec Ops: The Line.

Goddamn, that was a harrowing experience. I felt drained and disillusioned, but also overjoyed...

"Shut the fuck up and let me die in peace."

This show. This goddamn show.

One more until 2013. That 10 month wait is gonna be painful.

Re: What are you playing right now?

Here's the winning strategy for Rage: get good at wingsticks, win at everything.

Seriously, once you upgrade the wingsticks and get good with you, you are unstoppable. It's the only weapon I...

Re: What are you playing right now?

It's short and sadly the multiplayer is a bad afterthought.

You might be served well by a price drop as the game isn't the longest (let's say 6-8 hours). However, the story it tells is damn good...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I just finished the single player for Spec Ops: The Line. I'll try to keep it vague below.

Wow. A pedestrian first half that goes insane for the middle arc and then full-on bugfuck crazypants...

Re: Breaking Bad: Criminal Chemistry 101

Two months until the first half of the final season (8 episodes, followed by 8 in 2013). At first, I was okay with waiting. And then I watched this.

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Maybe spoiler-musings upon the internet's reaction to Mass Effect 3 follow.

I really don't get why the internet is having such a shitfit over the ending to Mass Effect 3.

Re: Mass Effect 3

The single player part of the demo, with the truncated intro and the lack of it being YOUR Shepard, felt kinda haphazard and skippable.

The multiplayer part of the demo, on the other hand, is an...

Re: What are you listening to?

I'm listening to the stream of Childish Gambino's new album CAMP on NPR. (http://www.npr.org/2011/11/06/141934309/first-listen-childish-gambino-camp)

Sometimes I forget why I like rap, but then...

Re: Breaking Bad: Criminal Chemistry 101

This show.

This goddamn show.

It is one stuck landing from putting The Wire firmly in its shadow.

Just hand all the dramatic Emmys to Breaking Bad. Right now. Don't bother making a list of...

Re: Breaking Bad: Criminal Chemistry 101

I'm so alone in here.

SOOOO ALOOOOOOONE.

I think I'm running out of ways to go "Holy shit" at what each episode is pulling off. It's almost cliche at this point, saying "holy shit" at an...

Holy shit.

Gustavo Fring is the baddest motherfucker in the history of all television.

Just give Breaking Bad all the Emmys next year.

Re: Games That Drop In Fall 2011

I am 1000% pumped for Saints Row The Third. The first was 'eh', the second was great and this one is looking to continue following the "sandbox hedonism" template from the second. So I'm all about...

Re: Last movie impressions

Captain America: This one basically washes the horrid taste of Green Lantern away, which is a feat in and of itself. Really, the most concise way for me to describe why I liked Captain America is...

Re: Breaking Bad: Criminal Chemistry 101

One Minute, Half Measure, Full Measure. Fly came close to being one of those three, but unfortunately it needs the context of the rest of the series to really hit home.

Re: Breaking Bad: Criminal Chemistry 101

Yeah, Giancarlo Esposito pretty much locked down his Emmy for next year in that one scene. I haven't seen silence that tense since the finale of The Shield.

And there it is. The first three minutes of the first episode of the best drama on TV right now. This one really is a weird beast of a show.

Walter White is a high school...

Re: Last movie impressions

Dead. Gone. Cremated. Ashes scattered to the winds. Not even the Zuckers have it anymore.

Most of the current crop of parody and spoof makers have forgotten that the most important part of...

Re: LA Noire review

I can't in good conscience say that LA Noire is strictly cinematic. It shares similarities with some cinema, but I really can't compare it to a movie in game form.

It's far more like a hardboiled...

Re: PS3 = Dead

Nostalgia isn't limited to childhood. It kicks in from the moment you try anything new. It's why so many people still pretend that Goldeneye 64 is a good game in the year 2011.

And no, the...
