Re: When I fire up my old _______ , it's to play __________ one more time!

I break out good old DOSBox every once in a while to play my beloved Quest for Glory games!

Also: Link's Awakening on the GameBoy.

But seriously...

Totally agreed here. It's kind of sad. But I can't...

Re: Assassin's Creed II

It's so good! The blend system is really neat and has the feel of those first AC1 trailers, with Altair just disappearing into a crowd. The story is intriguing and I love the characters, even Ezio...

Re: Let's skip that; it's just too dark

(Do you mind clarifying what you mean about "this kind of talk"? I don't see what the problem with my post is.)

Okay, I am extremely frustrated now because I have made this point three times...

Re: Let's skip that; it's just too dark

But that's not what I'm saying at all. If chapter select was available from the start, people are still going to play games in scene order, but there is simply an option to skip over parts if...

Re: Let's skip that; it's just too dark

(At this point, yeah, I am talking about some kind of hypothetical game similar to MW2 that actually makes some kind of deep point.)

Wow... I really can't believe you said that after I just...

Re: Let's skip that; it's just too dark

You're right that pushing boundaries is necessary for growth, but it doesn't work if you *force* people to do it. For the MW2 scene, some will play it because they think it is hilarious and...

Re: Justifying Your Music Genre Game Purchase

Good points. I think it is key that music games aren't inherently a waste of time any more or less than any other video game. I actually think they are LESS of a "waste of time" than most video...

Re: Let's skip that; it's just too dark

I was completely willing to give Infinity Ward the benefit of the doubt UNTIL this bullshit went up: http://kotaku.com/5394032/cole-hamels-reminds-you-that-grenades-are-for-pussies

Hahaha, get...

Re: Well done EA!

Wow, EA managed a marketing gimmick that is actually amusing and not ridiculously offensive. I'm impressed.

Re: Why is Uncharted so critically acclaimed and popular?

Agreed, especially this bit. It is a pet peeve of mine when reviewers say linearity is inherently bad. There is plenty of room in gaming where not every game has to be open-world. Personally, I...

Re: What games are looking forward to this fall?

Uncharted 2 was my big one this season, and oh my goodness, does it hold up to all the hype. It's simply fantastic. I'm even enjoying the multiplayer a whole lot, and I almost never play online...

Re: Why is Uncharted so critically acclaimed and popular?

Personally I loved Uncharted; I'm not that into shooters (though that is slowly changing with games like Uncharted and MGS4...) but I had a total blast with it. The story was fun, the dialogue witty...

I think a lot of your criticisms are spot-on. And when I started Mass Effect a lot of things annoyed the crap out of me...
