Re: Metal Gear Solid movie

I read somewhere that Kojima wanted Viggo Mortensen to play Snake if an MGS movie is ever made. Pretty good choice I think.

Re: PS3 Unveiled!

I must be in the minority here, but to me the PS3 price tag isn't a bad move at all. Demand for the console will be high at launch and supply will be relatively low. Huge numbers of people paid...

Re: What is your political persuasion?

I'm far left on social issues and centrist on economic ones. Sort of halfway between liberal and libertarian.

Re: New Review Posted: Digital Devil Saga 2

Pretty good review as a whole. One question for the reviewer though- you mentioned that Berserk Mode would kill you a lot...you did know that running from battle would always work in Berserk, right?

Re: Bargain Basement Errata

Hmm, I'll have to pick up Arx Fatalis sometime. I first picked up King's Field: TAC because of Brad's review and it ended up being one of my favorite games on PS2. I'm glad to hear that Arx Fatalis...

Re: How HWP are the people at Gamecritics?

I'm 6'2" and 205. Which doesn't sound that bad, but I have a skinny frame, so a lot of that weight is flab. I'll start fixing that in a few months when I move to a city that isn't actively hostile...

Re: Is anybody going to see Ang Lee's gay cowboy movie?

I generally do too. But I'm looking forward to seeing Brokeback Mountain in the theater because I've heard it has some great landscape cinematography. That kind of stuff just isn't the same on DVD.

Re: Dragon Quest 8 out today

I recently finished DDS2 and am about 10 hours into DQVIII. The battle systems in each are different, but I think each works well because they fit with their respective games overall.

Re: Shadow of the Colossus

Reviews have said that the length varies from 8-25 hours depending on how long you spend exploring the world.

The colossi are the only enemies in the game, and there's not a lot of stuff to...

Shadow of the Colossus

I'm picking up Shadow of the Colossus right after work today. I've been hyped about it for ages, and the OPM demo I played of it blew me away. Who else is picking this up?

Re: Only Human (What happened to Electronica?)

Vocalcity by Luomo was re-released on CD fairly recently, it's an amazing album.

Audion- Suckfish is a techno album I heard recently that I was quite impressed by.

As for more...

Re: I want a new drug (RPG)

Get Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. It has a great no-filler story, nice tactical battle system, unique art style, and good level of challenge. It can be found for cheap too.

Re: Digital Devil Saga 2 impressions

I'm about 7 hours in and love it so far. The hexagonal grid is nice, it gives the player more flexibility with character customization. But the two biggest improvements over the first are the...

Re: No love for Katamari?

I got We Love Katamari right when it was released and loved it. I guess because unlike some of the people here, when I finished KD1 I thought it really needed a sequel. It was a great innovative...

Re: RPG opinion needed on 3 titles

I actually like Radiata's slower pacing. I think it's neat that the game doesn't just throw you into the save-the-world quest within 30 minutes of hitting New Game on the title screen. It actually...

Re: RPG opinion needed on 3 titles

I'm about 16 hours in to Radiata Stories and I like it so far. It's more innovative than most reviews are saying. For instance, it reminds me of a fantasy version of Shenmue at times because the...

Re: Psychonauts, Hello, and Funny Games

I thought Katamari Damacy was hilarious. The King's dialogue, many of the item descriptions, and the odd placement of objects in the levels all struck me as funny.

Re: I am a pretentious jerk, sorry.

I don't think Brad ever called anyone's opinions irrelevant. He pretty much said the game seemed irrelevant to him, that's a bit of a difference. vanguard, it seems like you expect Brad to say in...

Re: In case you haven't seen it...

Never got into MSR/PGR. I like sims, and I like arcade racers, but that series always seemed to occupy a middle ground that was neither intuitive nor realistic. Bring on next gen Gran...

D2 on the Dreamcast. A great horror adventure set in snowy Canadian wilderness.

Re: New Review Posted: Rengoku

Good review, I'll probably be picking the game up now at some point. The concept seemed cool from as soon as I heard of the game, but the horrible reviews from other publications scared me away. ...
