Re: Ep 47: CONTEST!

Wow, this is a daunting question... My surprises aren't necessary a "best of" equation, but more of what I thought was going to suck but actually didn't.

Good surprise: I've had a lot of fun...

Re: The Walking Dead

I was able to catch it Monday -- I loved it.

I just hope that the rest of the show will be able to carry itself without Darabont's direction.

Re: DisKinected

Yikes.

I've heard plenty of people say that Kinect is pretty buggy, and I've heard plenty of devs say that Kinect works great.

I can imagine that the ideal environment for Kinect to work...

Re: Too Human- the thread you all have been waiting for!

You generally aren't missing anything that your teammates are saying during combat. Don't get too used to the achievements either, many of them are tough to get.

I love Too Human. It is a flawed...

Re: StarCraft 2

The last time I played Starcraft was about a year after its launch. I just bought Starcraft 2 yesterday, and I'm obviously blown away. It feels just as exciting and innovative as it did when the...

Re: Alan Wake (free stuff)

Yes -- this is that.

The Signal can last you up to an hour and a half. If you like the main campaign of Alan Wake, then you have no reason to not like The Signal. The set-pieces aren't as...

I didn't see another thread like this, so I figured that I would create a new one for this purpose:

Who wants the new Alan Wake DLC ("The Signal") for free?

Yesterday, I thought I already...

Re: Deadly Premonition

I finally bought Deadly Premonition after reading a few of the "Game of the Year" blog posts. I have wanted to play it since it came out, but the first post in the series convinced me to go ahead...

Re: Limbo

I just finished Limbo -- even got the achievement for beating it in one sitting with 5 or fewer deaths.

It is a game that deserves almost absolute attention. Even though it is black-and-white,...

Re: Finding my dad's Beatles albums when I was 7...

I remember my first time listening to the Beatles -- it was much later for me. A friend lent me the first disc to the White album.

I've always hoped my [future] kids would pick up a copy of Banjo...

Re: New People, Please Introduce Yourselves

I usually try for both, if they are somewhat reasonable. More recent examples would be Left 4 Dead 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Splinter Cell Conviction. I'm slowly working on Red Faction:...

Re: Fable II had 67,000 bugs

I'm really glad that he (and hopefully by proxy, Lionhead Studios) is able to step outside of their own heads to look back at their past work.

I loved Fable II when it came out; however when I...

The ending of Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

Towards the end of Mass Effect 1.

SPOILERS FOR MASS EFFECT 1:
At the end, while talking to Saren, I had...

Re: Singularity

I saw that it was on sale on Amazon yesterday. I think it was 50 bucks and came with some kind of graphic novel based on the game. I'm not sure why I'm telling you this now, because as I said, it...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

I'm in the same boat:

I played in when it first game out, got through about halfway and quit. I was playing on Normal, and I was having to take my time and be careful. The game was designed in...

Re: Halo fans have low standards and poor taste in gaming

Wow -- so much flaming in so little time!

Firstly, I like Halo. Is it the best game ever made? Not by a long shot. But when I want to play a casual shooter that's easy to get into, it's easy to...

Re: Games That Blow Your Mind

Particular moments for me:

The Elder Scrolls IV: Stepping out of the prison at the beginning.

Fallout 3: Leaving Vault 101 for the first time. It appears that Bethesda likes this conceit, as...

Re: Limbo

The initial reaction by a lot of the gaming press is very positive.

As a huge fan of Braid and P.B. Winterbottom, I'm really excited.

Re: Best Way to play Civilization?

An alternate choice would be Civilization: Revolution on the consoles. The game is much quicker, more beginner-friendly, and dare I say it: more arcadey.

It feels like "Civilization-Lite" in...
