Re: this is your life-gamecritics

My goal right now is to find out what the hell I want to do with the rest of my life. Actually, that's been my goal for awhile, but any progress I may have made was only imaginary.

Then again,...

Re: Missing-Gamecritics Users

Well, I'd buy your summer reason, except I remember two summers ago everyone on this board was in some sort of posting frenzy, and its gradually (or maybe not so) slowed over the last two years.

Re: Wisdom teeth

I had all four of mine pulled out last summer, and they gave me some sort of anasthetic through an IV and some laughing guess. Anyway, whatever it was worked really well because I don't remember the...

Re: [SPOILERS] The Harry Potter Plot Thread

My friend actually brought this up, but I wouldn't be surprised if Snape ends up on the good side after all, and Dumbledore's death is just a sacrifice so Snape can be closer to Voldemort. It's not...

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Just finished the book today. It made me stay up even later than book 5 did, though unfortunately I could not read it all in one straight marathon this time as I started later than I did number 5...

Re: Supreme Court Discussion Thread

Which is too bad. If a conservative justice had retired, then even if Bush and the republican congress had pushed through some right-wing nominee, it would not have upsetted the balance of the...

Re: Question & Answer

Spring break is over already. And no, I didn't go anywhere.

Why does Houston suck?

Re: Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?

I'm also Jean-Luc Picard  , even after retaking the test and changing half of my answers.

Re: Song of Ice and Fire

I agree. I always felt that Tolkien's works were more to be read as myths, something that had already happened and is being retold in a glorified form, than a story that you witness in real time.

Re: Question & Answer

Because they're greedy bastards, duh!

Music question: what's the difference between an EP and a full album, and what does EP stand for?

Re: im at 1000, HAHAHA!!!

You use to be able to view the member's list in order of post count, but I guess they disabled that.

Man, Hypatia has over 1,000 posts now?!? Didn't you use to have like, 19? The last time I...

Re: Song of Ice and Fire

It looks interesting. This is rather timely as I need a new series to read...if I ever find the time that is. Ever since finishing Dark Tower, I've been looking for something (I've decided that I...

Re: Question & Answer

Give the money to me! (go for the plasma. Either way, I wouldn't go for the bulky projection TV).

Enduro's story prompts this question: What's the worse thing you've ever done to someone?

Re: Question & Answer

On Friday evening, I went to a Johnny Carinos with ten other people, and while there, the power went out. We got our food free of charge.

On Saturday morning, I had ate two bitterly cold Krispy...

Re: What are some good, quick books?

I second Borges and Asimov. Asimov also wrote a little fantasy and mystery as well, though obviously he is most known for Sci-Fi. His most well known sci-fi stories (to my knowledge, anyway) are...

Re: I have never watched anime before, and I want to give it a go, what should I watch?

I wouldn't call myself an anime fan, but I do have a few recommendations:

First of all, I second Reharl's rec for Miyazaki's work. He has a wide range of movies ranging from light to dark, and...

Re: Was the Roman empire something good or bad?

This is kind of off the topic, but can someone explain the difference between common law and civil law? I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering.

Re: Post here when you give up on a game. I mean it!

I have basically given up on almost everything, which I'm sure to some is no surprise. The main reason is that, since the summer I have been very busy, and (I never gamed too much in the first...

Re: Who should rule the world?

Google...for about the same reasons. Microsoft and Sony seem too interested in money, and wasn't Nintendo a moral police on their games back in the day?

Re: Lawrence of Arabia (1962)... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Okay, let me explain. Maybe I shouldn't have sounded so confrontational. I am well aware that there are many people now who can't sit through long movies, and I am not trying to apply my personal...
