Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

I haven't been to any cities or towns so far, so it is mostly nature. There are lots and lots of villages which are just a couple of sod huts huddled around a notice board. There's nothing...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

The load times are pretty long actually, I just hadn't noticed. About a minute each time.

Now that I have turned the combat down to easy, I don't die as much though, so it's all good. :)

I may...

Re: Games of 2015

My halfway list:

Yes, super impressed with it and got a bit better at it this time around. It's a great game.

Pretty great, outstanding even. Applause for FROM.

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

Geralt actually moves pretty fast in this one, in fact he is constantly overshooting his target and bumping into doorframes, picket fences etc. ;)

It's a bit awkward, not super annoying yet but...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

Well enjoy the break, there's a good chance I'll be at the same spot next week as I'm seriously considering restarting.

I decided that I would dispense with the crafting altogether and sold all...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

Well, played a good four hours last night, so have some impressions.

First off, a big Boooooo! to the Gamespot reviewer who told me to bump the combat up to Hard.

The combat itself takes a...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

I like this idea of having a new thread for each game. It means

a) there are finally some big games coming out for next gen
b) we are somewhat playing the same games at the same time

This...

Re: What are you playing right now?

DS2 - Beat the Mirror Knight (ganged up on him with two NPCs) and got to Shrine of Amana, where I promptly lost the will to live.

Looking forward to Ep 3 of Life is Strange, which is out this...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

The upper one must have been the tech demo; incredible difference there.

I am getting tempted....but the reviews I've read so far don't mention the combat - anyone see a review like that?

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

Hmm, I'm not convinced at the co op. It's pretty easy to blast through bosses that way, but I'm just wondering where the 'fun' is (though there are a few comedy deaths to laugh at).

It's...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

The Wolf Among US (PS4)

This was pretty great. Very stylish, great storytelling, not too many false steps.

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

Mid eighties is probably ok, I won't level up any more in any case, need to stay stable for this summoning lark!

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

If by any chance anybody is in the range of level 92 and you see me on, my multiplayer settings are Worldwide, and password = gwx

Edit: haven't figured out party chat yet, my headphones (an old...

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

I missed ALL of these! "Iosefka" was a massive fight for me, she was really annoying as she had loads of health and would heal completely all the time. Grrrr.

I was away this week but managed an...

Re: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Thread

Wow, is it out next week already?

I've actually been thinking about the previous two games. I enjoyed the first, but got almost to the end and didn't finish it. I didn't like the second at all. ...

Re: Gaming Goals - 2015

Congrats! Keep at it ;)

I have 140 Pure Bladestone runs done so far in Demon's Souls, with no sign of it dropping. That's about 7 hours gaming, what am I doing with my life? :(

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Nice! I would recommend going back and playing the other two Bioshocks, though they are not to everyone's taste. Each game has different strengths and weaknesses too, they are pretty interesting.

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

Yeah, I guess maybe it lacks a little variation. I don't know if it is possible to replay in a different playstyle - the cane is the most distinctive starting weapon, but I didn't unlock the wagon...

Re: What are you playing right now?

It certainly looks nice from the trailer; I didn't realise it was out for the consoles as well as PC.

Edit: I played the second episode of Wolf Among Us. Very good, I think the format lends itself...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I am enjoying The Wolf Among Us.

Not familiar with the source material, but this is an extremely stylish game graphically, and has a great sense of humour. I've completed episode 1 only, and not...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Congrats!

I finished The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4).

It was good. The characters weren't developed enough at the start to have me make any kind of connection with them. Maybe that was the...

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

I might, I might ;)

I see from the other thread you've finished it; in the tradition of Souls-overkill, I'll keep my comments in here.

So, did you look into the backstory a bit? There was a...

Re: What are you playing right now?

I've really flown through Dark Souls 2, only to be totally discouraged by the first DLC area I unlocked, after the Old Iron King.

They really are a shower of clueless morons over there when it...

Re: The Bloodborne Thread

Also I would comment on the main site but it seems to take 10 days for your comments to appear now so I didn't bother with the podcast or the review.
