Re: Games that everyone thinks sucks, but you think they were OK

It seems this thread is reserved for classic games.
I cannot come up with one universally trashed old game I did like
(the A-team for Atari 2600 for instance is indeed horrible)

I do know a...

Re: The number 1 reason we crave better graphics/characters/plotlines..

I don't necassarily want better graphics and bigger exposions.
I don't even have a next-gen...ehm current-gen console, I still haven't finished many games on my PS2. GameCube and N64.

You sound...

Re: Your first videogame!

The very 1st game I played was Revolverhelden (Gunfighter) for the Philips Videopac G7000 (Odyssey 2 in the US), looooved the game and it still is a great game.

Re: Microsoft sued by some guy

What is it with people nowadays?
Can't take their loss.
5 million? The guy himself needs to be sued for contempt of any reasonability.

Assertiveness is a good quality, but in this case it...

Re: Gamestop Hydrocephalics... F'Em.

Well that guy from GS obviously is a wanker.

Where I come from even the toughest, muscular, full-body tatooed, hard-core gamer has some respect for kiddy games.
Spongebob games, Marioparty, Smash...

Re: Another reason why Zelda: TP failed

The load times didn't bother me that much, with the cannon-ride on lake Hylia as an exception, there isn't an animation when Link gets shot into the air which felt pretty cheap.

But these...

Re: The 21 Biggest Technology Flops

I stand corrected.

Wow, great story!

You're obviously right.

Re: The 21 Biggest Technology Flops

I don't think either that Sega's Dreamcast belongs on that list.
To me Atari Jaguar, NEC TurboGrafx16, the 3DO system (and mentioned earlier: N-Gage and Neo Geo) are much bigger flops.
And what...

Re: Zelda initial impressions

For what it's worth: this weak-sauce gamer had put some peppers up his ass and found out that the twilight (weak-sauce-) creatures can be beaten in seconds, if only you have some patience, which I...

Re: Zelda initial impressions

Hahahaha!

Well if you lose interest in a game than it's just that.
Thanks for the compliment!

Re: Zelda initial impressions

Yes I know about the b button, but you cannot hold it too long for it will release its power at the wrong moment and too often doesn't kill two or three creatures simultaneously...you need to start...

Re: Zelda initial impressions

Recently bought Zelda TP for the GameCube, having played 10 hours I must confess this obviously isn't the best Zelda ever.

**Spoilers**

The best moments so far are the deja-vu kinda moments,...

Re: What genres do you suck at?

In general I suck at any genre.
I am too nervous, usually getting too involved in a game.
I create a huge tension that doesn't allow my muscles to relax, therefore mostly I don't have enough...

Re: What kind of reviews do you like reading?

I agree.
Most reviews are too long.
A boring summary of the story, control tutorials...
how the controls work I will find out myself...if they suck it's a different matter than I want to get...

Re: Zelda initial impressions

Hmm...I actually liked the sailing for most of the part and when not I just warped to the right spot.

True, I didn't set sail for every single buried treasure.

(What I didn't like - something...

Re: Zelda TP gets 1up 10/10

It is not likely this new Zelda is going to be better than Ocarina, mostly because I grew older and played many games since. (and got tired of games at times - a pretty long list of unfinished games)...

Re: How do you feel about racist yellowface voiceover?

You're right it could be someone else, but the "damage" (I don't want to dramatize it) is already done by posting a link of an embarrissing post, possibly by our stupidamerican, with no other...

Re: How do you feel about racist yellowface voiceover?

Re: Where Are the Game (et al) Critics?

Oh boy...you're right.
My post is rather ridiculous, taking in out of the context of what I meant to say.

I wrote it with "Why there's still no Lester Bangs of gaming yet" in mind.
I didn't even...

Re: SEGA Genesis Collection

Vectorman is pretty nice!

Another great Genesis game "Strider" will probably come out in the Capcom Classic Collection Vol.2 for PS2 and PSP, later this year.

Re: Where Are the Game (et al) Critics?

And that, ultimately, is why the absence of video-game criticism is a problem. If nobody ever thinks about these games in a manner that's human and metaphorical and contextual, they'll all become...

Re: Gamecrazy's training video: an exercise in video PAIN

LOL

Well, they made the video cheesy on purpose of course, the rather disgusting 'popular' talk.
But by doing that they don't take the whole game selling that serious and I don't think that's...
