Re: the videogame crash of 2013?

I knew I should have continued my education in marketing. :(

Re: the videogame crash of 2013?

Yeah, that is way too much for Marketing.

They need to cut down on the Cocaine and whores during their promotional meetings. :p

Re: the videogame crash of 2013?

I hated to see LucasArts go, but I thought it was a pretty poor decision to abandon the very popular KOTOR and Star Wars Battlefront games. Battlefront 3 was supposedly pretty far along in...

Re: Roger Ebert: 1942-2013

I still laugh at Brad's comments about getting a response from Roger on the subject.

It's sad to hear the Roger has passed. I really loved watching his reviews back in the Siskel & Ebert days.

Re: What are you playing right now?

Crysis 3 (PC): This game really does put a beatdown on my hardware. My 1 Gig GTX 460s in sli have finally met their match. I have to run this game on medium settings to keep the frame-rate above 40...

Re: Sony...is it so hard.....

The console(PS3) was already losing over $200 a unit for Sony. The added $30 was not easily affordable. Sony sells 5 million of those units, at an additional $150,000,000 in losses.

Sony and MS...

Re: Sony...is it so hard.....

They already did a simular setup with the 60 gig PS3. It was expensive, because they had to basically build a PS2 within the PS3. They were later able to emulate the Emotion Engine (CPU) of the PS2,...

Re: Sony...is it so hard.....

It's not like that at all. The x86 hardware operates with a different instruction set. It's like putting a Blu-ray drive inside of a DVD player and expecting the hardware to work.

Re: Sony...is it so hard.....

If only it was that easy. The PS3's Cell processor is based on IBM's Power PC, while the new hardware is going to be x86 architecture.

Re: So, the PS4 then...

It easier than ever to build your own PC. I did my first build in 2010, with an Intel C2Q (Q9650) with 8 gigs of PC2-8500 RAM, a single GTX 460 (later added a second card in sli) an XFX Nforce 750i...

Re: What are you playing right now?

The storyline leaves a lot to be desired, but the open world with its sandbox gameplay keeps it interesting. I've really enjoying the game on PC, with its lush graphics and strategic camp battles. I...

Re: PS2 hidden gems & underrated games

Stolen looks interesting.

The PS2 has a nice port of the Japanese Dreamcast game, Culdcept. It's a pretty cool board game.

Re: Microsoft is gifting free custom Xbox 360s to Xbox veterans.

I use the 360 pad with my PC as well.

Do you like pinball Li-Ion? Pinball FX2 and Pinballarcade are excellent and dirt cheap on LIVE.

I've never heard of Elder Signs.

I have Metro 2033 on the PC. It has its moments, but there's a lot of dead time between the action. You end up in small underground communities, between the...

Re: Economics and Video games (Chocolate and peanut butter)

It's somewhat interesting. It appears that Valve is looking at different ways to make real money, selling virtual commodities through Steam.
