Re: Wii or ski?

You're absolutely right of course. I think I had already decided to go anyway but was just having doubts. There wouldn't be much satisfaction in swinging a remote about when I could be doing...

Wii or ski?

OK...I know this is a bit of a silly thread, but maybe you can help me make my mind up. I have the opportunity to go skiing in France over New Year (check me :p ) but we are talking, conservatively,...

Re: Everything wrong with Dragon Quest

Cool, someone who agrees with me on this! Felt exactly the same whilst playing it. The game is absolutely sparse. What's the point in having an expansive world if there's no incentive to explore it?...

Re: Wii Object!

This is rubbish. Mystique? It would be the laziest name for a console yet. Everytime a new system is released it's lauded as revolutionary; every developer would claim their system to be so. I was...

Re: Everything wrong with Dragon Quest

Breathtakingly beautiful? On occasion it was very pretty (early in the game when you turn the corner and see the beach). But after the initial wonderment at the green plains spreading out around you,...

Re: Wii Object!

Bassbeast: 'If you think that a name is bad because in one particular culture it might have a juvenile connotation, then you're probably the same kind of person who laughs when a racecar announcer...

Re: Wii Object!

The name will work out for Nintendo. Doesn't anyone else think that now the initial incredulity after the name was announced has died down, it seems to, well, work? It just sounds more organic, like...

Everything wrong with Dragon Quest

So I've given up on Dragon Quest VIII after about 30 hours of play. I've just had enough. Really though, the fuss about this game, why? (may contain spoilers) Still in the mood for RPG, I bought...

Re: Stupid HARD Games, Levels, Settings, Bosses, You Name It

Both Metroid Prime games I worked sooo methodically to collect every energy tank and missile upgrade only to get to the final boss and fall to my knees weeping with frustration at my complete...

Analogue control, rumble feature, now motion sensor... their announcement is unsurprising. The company have a history of feeding off Nintendo innovation. And yet as Nintendo continue to create new...

Re: New Super Mario Bros

Super Mario Sunshine has been criminally underrated. for me, it stands out as one of the best Mario games for a number of reasons. Firstly, it DID offer an alternative slant on the Mario traditions,...

Re: Gamecritics News - Nintendo Versus Everyone: The Business Of Business

I don't agree with this. We had to wait forever for Ocarina of Time but God was it worth it - and I wouldn't have wanted to take away a day from the development time of the game. I'll wait patiently...

Re: Now Playing and How Good It Is

Horror:

Resident Evil 4 (2nd run): Still manages to seem fresh and surprising even when you know what's coming next.

Siren: With headphones on, I'm a wreck. It's really great, but the willpower...

Re: What old game should be redone?

Flimbo's Quest for the C64! I think I'm the only person who knows this game as I've asked people before if they've ever played it and they just go 'huh?' It was a platform game where you had to...

Unhealthy obsession

I have two obsessions in life: Orlando Bloom and Pikmin 2. Admittedly, the former is out of my reach perhaps, but the latter has taken over my life in quite an extreme way since I bought it a few...

I haven't seen 'Das Boot' - though at least that is a good film, I've...
