Re: Who watched the Watchmen?

Yes, too faithful by far. I agree with Tim, the opening credits was the most promising sequence (unfortunately).

Re: Where are the Brits?

I'll stick my hand up, albeit sheepishly as I've been missing from these parts for the best part of a year now. Colour me a lurker! (Or should I say "color", to lurk more effectively? ;D)

I'm...

Re: If I could end a game franchise, it would be...

It's just a series name. It helps people identify the product. It shifts units. That's only an artistic compromise if you think a game's title is particularly important (which strikes me as pretty...

Re: If I could end a game franchise, it would be...

Amen! I can honestly say I've never played a less enjoyable RPG than Pokemon. What is the point of that series?

Re: The most visionary game you've never played.

Geek Fletch:
"You know I think you'll find Mr. Gallaway that Galleon, although in development for many years, was in fact released well after ICO and also after Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time....

Re: If I could end a game franchise, it would be...

Thanks for that description Farid. My request for Second Life to end was a knowingly lazy and ill-informed one, so I'm glad someone set the record straight.

Thing is, I'm sure Second Life is the...

Re: If I could end a game franchise, it would be...

Actually, I think they're starting to move things forward with Fifa now that Pro Evo has become the market leader. But that is just hearsay... I've played neither for a few years now.

And thanks...

Re: If I could end a game franchise, it would be...

Nah, I never stick my nose up at a good old Zelda. But I know what you mean Dale, we need another Majora-style experiment to liven up that kitty. Now for my answer:

If I could end a game...

Re: Get off your high horse. . .

From Capcom.

Looks a bit like Gregory Horror Show.

I'm there. ;)

Re: R.I.P. Hypathia aka Colleen Ann Ford

This is so sad. She was always such a bubbly presence on the forums. I remember her going on about my Gregory Horror Show review (my first GC review) for ages because Capcom wouldn't release it in...

Re: Twilight Princess: Sink it or Keep Swimming?

I agree, although ironically I did this with Okami (after a good 7 hours, mind you) because I felt it was just going to continue playing out like a Zelda game (in wolf's clothing, heh heh). Nice...

Re: Why Don't All Wii Games Look Like Prime 3?

I'd go outside, but I can't find the key fragments to let me open the front door. And I hate collect-'em-up quests. ;)

Re: Why Don't All Wii Games Look Like Prime 3?

Why wouldn't a developer want to get the most out of the hardware? There's no question that Nintendo and Retro must have fantastic artists and know better than anyone about tips and tricks for the...

Re: The Toughest Thing You've Beat?

We had this topic a while back, but I'm not complaining because I get to repeat that I beat and unlocked everything on Amplitude's INSANE mode.

Even though I can hold my own on Guitar Hero's...

Re: Flaws in Videogame (part 2)

T-junctions and splitting paths where one path leads to level progress and the others lead to a dead-end or tiny bit of treasure/ammo, but there's no way of knowing which is which from the...

Re: Edge lists the "100 Best Videogames"

Well done everyone who's mentioned Zelda: Link's Awakening as one of the best! We mustn't forget this peach-perfect 2D RPG just because it was on the lowly GameBoy, and ignorantly seen as a mini-Link...

Re: Facebook vs. Myspace

From a personal UK perspective, I think Facebook has definitely got the bigger buzz right now (across an increasingly large age-range). MySpace is viewed more as a place for advertising yourself...

Re: Edge lists the "100 Best Videogames"

I guess sticking Resident Evil 4 at number 2 is the controversial one of that list, and it'll be interesting to hear their reasoning. I thought it was great, but also poorly paced, repetitive and...

Re: GDC Super Mario Galaxy Trailer

I had also been a little concerned over the cohesiveness of the game world (galaxy), but this trailer actually ignited my interest in the title demonstrating a really thrilling sense of abandon.

Re: Need help with a grrl...

Oof! That's brutal, but actually kind of true in my experience. If you're too casually friendly, "nice" or wait too long, you're headed for the friendzone pal.

Booo the friendzone!!!!

Re: Game Quiz in this week's news post

To my shame: I got in the high 70's (78?) below all of you guys.

In my defence: I was speed-checking that it was suitable for "Other Headlines".

To my shame (again): If you're reading this...

Re: Where would you rather be?

From what you've written I presume that's a typo for "bored and sober".

Anyway, right now I'd like to be lying on a comfy leather couch in my own house with Amy Winehouse, singing me to sleep.
