Please Rate This Review: "Batman: Arkham City"

HIGH: Remotely blowing up an enemy mine in the faces of the same morons that placed it there.

Re: World Premiere Trailer for Last of Us.

This generation never ceases to amaze me in its banality. The teaser *looks* great... and that's all it does. Okay, that's not fair; it also sounds great.

I don't know anything about this game....

Re: Please Rate This Review- "Saint's Row: The Third"

Blimey, it did turn out long, didn't it? Ironically, this was an expansion of a script I did for a 4-minute-long video review. I guess I was over-compensating.

I'll have a look on the basic...

Re: 2011 Community GOTY

I still need to finish Human Revolution and that Batman thing before I can settle, but Saint's Row 3 is looking well for that spot at the moment.

Re: What are you playing right now?

Finally finished Fallout 3's main campaign. Bustin' out some oldies now: Titan Quest.

Re: Skyrim

Pre-ordered it, played it, hated it. Hated every single glitchy, buggy, overblown, insubstantial moment in it. So far as I'm concerned this series is the "Modern Warfare" of RPGs.

I could forgive...

Please Rate This Review- "Saint's Row: The Third"

Remember back when sequels were supposed to be bigger and better than their predecessors? What a magical time that was, when PETA didn't care about your furry-fetish and licking a unicorn's horn was...

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog... 4!

^ Still, I played the Fan Remix demo myself last night and it was a hell of a lot more enjoyable. Played through it three times, whereas I have yet to bother finishing Sonic 4.

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Finished Mafia II. One of the biggest disappointments I've played (considering how much I enjoyed the original). The writing was sub-par, the mechanics were functional but unremarkable and...

Re: Sonic the Hedgehog... 4!

Asked in jest, I hope?

I bought it. Price is steep, the presentation is 'meh' (mainly due to Sonic's animation) and it does borrow a bit too heavily from the original games. Having said that, it's...

Re: Post here when you beat a game. I mean it!

Finished AC!D and then AC!D2. They were a great deal better than I'd be led to believe. In some ways, I enjoyed them more than most recent MGS titles, despite some pretty noticeable bumps along the...

Re: Bioshock 3

That reeked of Ben Crosshaw :p

Seriously, though, every game can offer innovation within the limits of its own genre, even if for shooters it's becoming increasingly difficult.

On the other...

Re: Bioshock 3

^ Pretty much. I welcome the change of the setting, but why does it have to be Bioshock and not an original IP? If the first sequel proved anything is that the IP doesn't have much else to offer.

Re: The Petition to Ban Brad Gallaway From GameCritics

I'm not arguing the effectiveness of petitions in general, just the ridiculous ones made on petty, implausible grounds.

Re: Games we wanted to like, but didn't

Oh, good point. Resident Evil 4 I never got into either. Everyone had convinced me I should play it and it seemed to have a lot of good going for it, but it wasn't scary and the more action-oriented...

Re: The Petition to Ban Brad Gallaway From GameCritics

I'd sign that petition. I'd get other people to sign it as well. The more signatures it got, the more satisfying it would be when the moron who started it realized it was never going to work since,...

Re: Games we wanted to like, but didn't

Bioshock is probably the most recent that comes to mind. Champions Online is another one. Or pretty much any GTA game that isn't GTA2 or Vice City, with San Andreas being at the top of that list as...

Re: Dragon Age 2

The one thing that worries me since news of this came out is the fact that the character will be pre-defined. Origins surprised me on many levels. I'm a sci-fi guy and I can barely stand the old...

Re: Bioshock 2

I didn't particularly like even the first Bioshock. The story was... well, not particularly good and the gameplay never sold me on the title. What was interesting about it was the art direction, the...

Re: Best Side-Scrolling Mario

This for me as well. I also have a very soft spot for Super Mario Land, mainly because it was my first Game Boy game and actually it holds up pretty well. Short and sweet.

Re: Why is Mass Effect so critically acclaimed and popular?

^ I don't know, I think part of the problem is the friendly AI. This time I dropped the game because it bore me, but the first time that I was playing as an Infilitrator (that's the sniper/sneak...

Hmm. I never got the option to donate gems. I got to donate a great deal of cash, but no gems.

When does the option open up?

Re: Why is Mass Effect so critically acclaimed and popular?

That's the matriarch, right? Incidentally, that's the last battle I played, before I dropped the game for the second time.

It depends on what kind of character you are. I'm your run-of-the-mill...

Re: Dragon Age Thoughts

That's the failing of the game's battle system. It relies a lot on friendly AI, which is not always spot-on, requiring you to pause the game every now and again to issue commands.

Same thing...

Re: A nice place to visit but...

Eh, I played some of it on a Wii (up to the first town change) and I wasn't impressed. Some ideas are neat, but they also raise a few questions:

- Why remake the first Silent Hill? The only...
