What company do you feel needs to have the best show at E3?
With E3 just around the corner, what company do you feel needs to have the best showing at E3?
I feel that Nintendo needs to show gamers why they should have faith in the Wii U. The hardware is barely more powerful than the current hardware available from MS and Sony, and there are still a lot of questions about how the pad will make it a unique platform for gamers. |

I also think N needs a good showing the most, since I don't think lightning will strike a second time with the WiiU. After all: for each great success like Wii or DS there was a virtua boy or power glove. They have to show why this is a new Wii and not a new power glove.
Sony and MS will do the same procedure as every year of one-upmanship. |

Nintendo. As already mentioned above, Nintendo needs to show why people need to invest in their next system. For starters, maybe they should reveal a new name. It would probably help if they had a collection of third party, "triple-A" titles to showcase as well. If they could build off of what was shown in the recent Rayman clip, that could be a big selling point (at least for me). Lastly, maybe outline a more comprehensive online plan and how it will be an improvement over their current offering.

Big N first since they have a big product launch this year and most of us are on the fence about it.
Sony needs to show some heavy hitters for the Vita since it has had slower than expected sales. (I love my Vita) |

There's not enough information to suggest that the WiiU is only 'barely' more powerful than the 360 and PS3. It very well may be, but there are those who are convinced (and have a reason to be) that it will be able to handle Unreal Engine 4 when it releases in 2014. Just a month and all will be revealed.

If you are referring to the Samaritan demo :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSXyztq_0uM That is called UE 3.5 by Mark Rein. And you know you can't compare PCs to consoles. Consoles are dedicated little machines that required little overhead for the OS and bloatware, while PCs need to handle quite a bit at the same time. Another thing to keep in mind is Epic may scale down available features depending on the capability of the box running it. |

UE3 is being designed around support for DX11, which the current consoles cannot do. http://pc.ign.com/articles/115/1153284p1.html Quote:

Re: What company do you feel needs to have the best show at E3?
:D You'll pit the 'anonymous' voices against those of Ubisoft, THQ, Gearbox, and EA? Oh, and Mark Rein and Cliff Blizenski have had words to say.
You'll also have to note that all anyone has seen are dev kits, of which there are several versions of as they nail down specifics. These 'developers' that are quoted fail to mention which version they had an opportunity to play with. I'm going to stick with 'maybe, wait and see'. There are plenty of other reasons to not find the WiiU appealing. Lack of a unified account that can be transferred from one console to another. Lack of meaningful internal storage. Poor sound capabilities. Slow USB connections. Still unable to play a music cd or a dvd (though rumor has it that it contains a bluray drive), only one controller pad at a time... |
Re: What company do you feel needs to have the best show at E3?
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what Nintendo does with the WiiU, but with an expensive (ipad like) controller, I just don't see it possible for the system to have a lot of horses under the hood. The pad alone, has to be pretty expensive.
