Quick Animal Crossing Question
I am going to get AC. I was reading about it, and it said you could give people things w/out going online but generating a code. First of all, how free are you on what you give, and second, can you send notes?
Thanks in advance for any help |
Many of us on the boards have been trading items. Here's how it works.
Once your character comes into contact with an item, even if you sell it or give it away to an in-game character, you are always free to order another idential one from Nook the local shop owner. For example, I had a Samuarai Suit that Chi wanted so I ordered a duplicate from Nook. The next day it was in my mailbox. I then brought it to Nook told him that I wanted to give it to Chi in Chitown and a code was generated. I then sent Chi that code and he was able to use it in his game to retrieve the item. Cool, huh? |
That is cool, although i don't get how it works, also can you send notes?

The codes are alpha-numeric as well as some symbols. The code would resemble something like this: ftghUA@io9! ehu!7YU2los When you visit the local store owner, Tom Nook, you can ask him to send an item, furniture, or article of clothing to a friend (you can't send any museum stuff: fish, bugs, paintings, and fossils) who has Animal Crossing. Tom will ask you the name of your friend and their town, as Doug used Chi and Chitown for an example. The item, the name, and the town will all contribute to the case-sensitive code. Once he gives you the code, you give it to your friend and they tell it to Tom Nook in their game who will say something like "Ah yes, it seems your friend has a gift for you". Your friend now has the item. Let's say Azure in Holodrum (my character and town) wanted to send Slim in Nearburg (your character and town, made up of course I dunno what you'd pick) a watermelon table. With the table in my inventory, Azure would go to Tom Nook and tell him he wants to send something to Slim in Nearburg. I then select the table from my inventory and a code will appear based on: the watermelon table, the name Slim, and the name Nearburg. I'll give you the code, you visit Tom Nook, tell him the code, and voila! A watermelon table in your inventory curtousy of Azure in Holodrum. Pretty swanky if I do say so. What Doug was referring to about being able to re-order items is that you have a catalog with Tom Nook. Every item you have ever held in your inventory even for a brief second becomes listed in your catalog. Nearly everything can be reordered by Tom, who will mail it to your house within a day. The only things you can't re-order: -Gifts from the mayor, Gulliver, or events won -Perishable items (fish, bugs, fruit, candy, turnips) -Gyroids (little tree stumps that make noise) -Fossils (mostly because they're worth big bucks when you sell them) I hope that helped clarify things a bit more for you. If not, well *draws a golden shovel plucked fresh from his Animal Crossing orchard* we'll just have to beat it into you.... |
Yes it did, thanx
