Brad Gallaway does a quick review of videogame musical group YMCK's recent CD and "sits down" with the group for an interview.

"The energy and creativity used in creating the CDs 12 songs is obvious, especially considering the limited palette of sounds that the old 8-bit machines were capable of. However, if there were any complaints to level against the work, it's that there isn't enough variety in tone; energetic and airy is easily accomplished, but my ear kept waiting for something a little deeper or more raucously riotous."

Cool feature Brad. I'd like to see GC do more stuff like this in the future. Maybe game-related book reviews or something like that. Thumbs up!

we've done a few books (one art book, also the Halo novel iirc) and i'll be working on another book review shortly... just waiting for the package to arrive. ; )

Wow, that's some pretty crazy stuff. At first I was like "um, why listen to old NES music like this?", but then it just comes out of nowhere and gets really involved.

Very cool.
