There is a lot riding on this game for Square and Sony. Square needs to produce a hit that doesn't fit into the RPG genre. Its recent PlayStation 2 release, Driving Emotion Type S, received a decidedly cold reception from anyone who played it. And Sony is counting on games with these kinds of production values to convince a now skeptical gaming public that its $300 console really can deliver a worthy next-generation gaming experience. From the looks of things, The Bouncer will be a visual feast, but it remains to be seen whether the gameplay will be enough to hold gamers.
