State Of Emergency is one of the more unusual releases in recent memory. If not with its gameplay, it is sure to shock prospective/potential players with its premise. State Of Emergency does face a couple of obstacles. Like Grand Theft Auto III, State Of Emergency will have to overcome the limitations of a mission-based structure, especially in something as chaotic and predictable as a full-blown riot. There is also the matter of the game's depth. Can these missions hold a player's attention? Also unlike Grand Theft Auto III, recent events may cause unwanted attention to be focused on State Of Emergency may not get a free pass from the press given recent world events. As evidenced by its successful holiday season, Rockstar Games has found a winning formula: present gamers with a vehicle with which to live out adolescent fantasies and they will buy your game in droves. That may be enough to take State Of Emergency over the top.
