The city in State Of Emergency consists of four expansive areas: The Mall, Chinatown, The East Side and Corporate Headquarters. Each area is comprised of no less than 30 missions. The reason for such a high overall number is due to the varied scope of the missions. Many of the missions can be quite trivial, barely rising beyond demolishing a single building. Others are far more interesting. Some missions require that players assassinate Corporation officers, steal sensitive items and documents or protect other Freedom Agents and operations bases from attack and raid by the Corporation. Navigating the areas to complete missions is aided by the old arcade standbys of onscreen arrows and colored cursors to help direct players toward crucial structures and characters.
