This image here gives you a good idea of the scope of what the developers are trying to accomplish. In this particular shot, you can see the potential for a diverse range of combat across land, sea and air. Bungie promises that a variety of weapons, vehicles and terrain will all factor into the gameplay. Also, keep in mind that the images you see here are not pre-rendered cutscenes and are actual screen captures from the game engine (something that Bungie loves to point out every chance it gets).
