Here we see a shot from the actual gameplay, though some of the conceptual art will probably be changed in the final version. This perspective is seen from inside the car behind the red BMW, but what I've never understood about this view is that you don't see the hood of your car or the immediate interior, which is what we all see when we drive in real life. Instead, the odometer and tachometer are shown in a hi-res heads-up display like in a fighter plane. A surprising number of racing games nowadays do the same thing. Sega's Virtua Racing is the last one I remember that let you view the action from a true interior perspective, though the recent F355 Challenge on Dreamcast also remembers this idea. I thought the PlayStation 2's ready graphics capabilities would be a good opportunity to make the interior view in GT3 a bit more realistic, but apparently the developers didn't think so.
