Dystopic... but not in a fun way.

HIGH I finally got to see what one of those T-600s with the rubber faces looks like.

LOW It's two hours long. And most of that is spent ducking behind cars waiting for AI to do its job.

WTF This is a Terminator future-war game. Where are the lasers?

HIGH Nailing a tricky series of jumps after trying a few hundred times.

LOW The Extreme level of difficulty is heartlessly punishing.

WTF Why limit the number of attempts or length of play on the hardest levels?

HIGH The moment early in the game where the main character must turn on his allies is almost perfect.

LOW The rest of the game is just downhill from there.

WTF Super Saiyans? In MY Drakengard?!

HIGH It feels exactly like playing a never-released Ghostbusters movie.

LOW Bill Murray has a few good lines, but mostly phones in his performance.

WTF The last level is the weakest, most trite in the entire game.

HIGH Capturing the enemy flag with a single scout running and gunning within the first turn.

LOW Leaving my own base totally unguarded allowing a lone enemy Lancer to lumber over and capture it unhindered, 10 turns into a battle.

WTF We definitely needed a cutesy flying piglet in our reimagining of WWII, right guys?

A nightmare worth experiencing

HIGH The moment where you finally "get" the game is pretty magical. There's a lot of depth here, but only patient gamers will stick around long enough to find it.

LOW The game's tutorial isn't as helpful as it should be. Knights in the Nightmare is difficult mostly because it does such a terrible job of explaining how it was meant to be played.

WTF The entire game is one giant WTF moment for the first few hours.
