Volition

Saints Row IV Third Opinion

In the minority

Saints Row IV Review Screenshot

HIGH Nearly everything unpleasant about The Third is fixed here.

LOW
Steelport is still hella gross to look at.

WTF
The ending features a scene so hideous I thought I'd gotten the bad ending.

Saints Row IV: How The Saints Save Christmas Review

Gettin' yo' ass on the nice list

Saints Row IV How The Saints Save Christmas DLC Review Screenshot

HIGH THe film ‘A Christmas Story' gets much love.

LOW Clawz should have been more developed.

WTF Kinzie? Is that you?!?

Saints Row 4: Enter The Dominatrix Review

Everybody Walk The Dinosaur

Saint's Row 4 Enter the Dominatrix

HIGH The ‘deleted scenes’ premise and the stellar ending.

LOW The gameplay in the missions is kinda lame.

WTF The whole thing.

While the Saints Row franchise has always been irreverent and over-the-top, those who only see it as crazy are selling the series (and its developers) short.

Saints Row IV Second Opinion

Johnny Get Your Gat

HIGH "Asha, that lightbulb has a family."

LOW The disappointing "sidequests" are just groups of area-control events you would probably do yourself anyway.

WTF How do you get a simple concept like TK mayhem so wrong?

Saints Row IV Review

Mulligan!

HIGH "Paula Abdul is my spirit animal."

LOW Frequent low-level glitches and technical weirdness.

WTF Seriously Volition… still no booty slider in character creation?

Dragon's Crown, Friday Monsters, Brothers and Saints Row IV

Dragon's Crown Screenshot

First, here's my take on Dragon's Crown for PS3/Vita, which you may have heard about thanks to the brouhaha surrounding the hyper-sexualized art style. Personally, I thought it looked great, although everyone has their own preferences. However, it's an incredible game regardless of what it looks like, and it's probably the best beat-'em-up that's ever been made.

Saints Row IV Hands-on Preview

Previewing Saints Row IV is a tricky proposition. There's a number of things I'd love to talk about, while at the same time understanding that these things are best experienced fresh.

Saints Row: The Third Review

The Third Time's not the Charm

Saints Row: The Third Screenshot

HIGH One of the best extended opening sequences I've played in some time.

LOW the game fails to maintain that quality past the opening.

WTF No booty size slider—again?!? And Burt Reynolds?

Where Red Faction: Armageddon failed

Red Faction: Armageddon Screenshot

I initially had a hard time writing my review of Red Faction: Armageddon. I almost fell into the same trap that caught me in my review of No More Heroes 2, another game that essentially abandoned an existing open-world concept, of reviewing the predecessor rather than the sequel. This was an enticing prospect, because I liked Red Faction: Guerilla a great deal, and I did not like Armageddon one little bit.

Red Faction: Armageddon Review

Mars Bores

Red Faction: Armageddon Screenshot

HIGH Bringing a whole structure crashing down on a monster using the magnet gun.

LOW The monster didn't seem to notice it.

WTF Why am I doing so much work to protect force-fields and take out bridges when these creatures are constantly emerging from the solid rock?
